2023 - New Year, New Life
With more than 35 years of experience working in rights management for the BBC I have vast experience of obtaining audio rights for broadcast, podcast and exploitation of audio book readings, both public service and commercial. Throughout my BBC career I have specialised in literary copyright and how the requirements of the law apply to audio exploitation and have also conducted extensive training in this area on both a one to one and group basis. At the BBC I was responsible for its union agreements with writers for audio exploitation including with the Writer’s Guild, Society of Authors and Personal Management Association. Through this work I have built up excellent extensive relationships with Literary Agents, Publishers and with the Writer’s Guild and Society of Authors. Whether you are planning to produce a Radio or Podcast Audio Drama, an Audiobook Reading, Poetry programme or you just need general advice on Fair Dealing copyright material for use in a Documentary, I can call upon my expertise and excellent working relationships to advise as required and carry out any literary copyright contracting. At the BBC I have also contracted performers, including soloists and conductors for the BBC Proms and undertaken work in connection with Classical Music for Radio 3. I have a basic working knowledge of the Equity Agreement for BBC Audio.
